What is our mission?
Shaping Life is a Glasgow‑based charity committed to building stronger, healthier, and more connected communities. We exist to ensure that individuals and families facing disadvantage have access to safe, inclusive spaces where they can grow, heal, and thrive. Our work is rooted in compassion, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves meaningful opportunities, regardless of background or circumstance.
We support people experiencing poverty, isolation, ill‑health, disability, or social inequality through practical assistance, wellbeing programmes, youth and family activities, and initiatives that promote racial and religious harmony. Guided by lived experience and community partnership, Shaping Life creates environments where confidence can flourish, skills can develop, and a genuine sense of belonging becomes possible.
This is who we are: a charity dedicated to uplifting people, strengthening families, and shaping a future where everyone has the chance to thrive
We want to help and create a better world
Our community wellbeing and poverty‑relief project has been generously supported by The Weir Charitable Trust Foundation, enabling us to expand vital services for individuals and families experiencing hardship across Scotland. This funding strengthens our mission to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and ensure that vulnerable households have access to essential support.

Shaping Life’s Community Open Day has grown into one of the organisation’s most valued and impactful annual events — and its success has been made possible through several years of continued support from The Robertson Trust’s Wee Grants programme. This long‑standing funding relationship has allowed the event to flourish, expand, and reach hundreds of families across the community.
Shaping Life Community Open Day: A Multi‑Year Wee Grant Success
The Community Open Day is designed to bring families together, reduce isolation, and create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can access support, activities, and community resources. Thanks to The Robertson Trust’s Wee Grant, Shaping Life has been able to deliver this event year after year, ensuring consistency, stability, and growth.
What the Wee Grant Has Enabled
Annual delivery of the Open Day — Funding has ensured the event runs every year without interruption, becoming a trusted fixture in the community calendar.
Free access for families — Activities, workshops, food, and entertainment remain fully accessible, removing financial barriers for families experiencing hardship.
Expanded activities and stalls — Each year, the event has grown to include more creative arts, sports, wellbeing sessions, and information stalls.
Support for ethnic minority families — The event provides culturally safe spaces and targeted support as part of Shaping Life’s commitment to Advancing Racial Justice.
Strengthened community cohesion — Families, local organisations, volunteers, and partners come together, building stronger relationships and shared pride.
Why The Robertson Trust’s Support Matters
The Robertson Trust has played a major role in helping Shaping Life deliver meaningful community impact. Their Wee Grant support has:
Provided financial stability for planning and delivery.
Enabled Shaping Life to reach more families each year.
Supported the organisation’s mission to reduce poverty, isolation, and inequality.
Helped embed the Open Day as a signature annual event that the community looks forward to.
Strengthened Shaping Life’s capacity to deliver racial justice work, ensuring ethnic minorities and people of colour feel represented and included.
A Partnership That Has Grown Over Years
Since 2020, Shaping Life has worked closely with The Robertson Trust, and the Wee Grant has been a consistent foundation for the Open Day’s success. This multi‑year support reflects trust, shared values, and a commitment to community wellbeing.
Let's start building together
At Shaping Life, we believe that real change begins when people come together with a shared purpose. Today marks the start of building something stronger — a community shaped by collaboration, compassion, and collective action. By joining hands, we create spaces where families feel supported, young people feel seen, and every voice is valued. Together, we are laying foundations that will last, strengthening the bonds that connect us and opening doors to new opportunities. This is the beginning of building together — with hope, with unity, and with the belief that our community thrives when we move forward as one.
We believe no one should walk their journey alone. Isolation dims confidence, limits opportunity, and closes the door to shared wisdom. When we step into community, we step into strength. By connecting with others, learning together, and supporting one another, we become wiser, more resilient, and more empowered. Community integration is not just about being present — it is about belonging, contributing, and growing side by side. Together, we build a future where every person feels valued, every voice is heard, and no one is left behind.
